Te Whare Wananga o Te Maro

This is our Whare of Tauranga Intermediate, A whare is house but most people think of it as one of the ancestors, the reason for this is because the front of this is the head, the main structure in the middle at the top of this room is the 'back bone/spin'. Also on the sides of that of the black bone is the ribes on both sides,at the back of the room is the rear end and so on with the rest of the body parts. Here is a picture of one of the year 7 boys showing us what the room is kinda based on.
The picture on the right representations the 3 main iwi's of Tauranga Moana, these were the three main tribes, the top is from Takitimu Waka and the name of it is Ngati Ranginui, the middle one is called Ngati Pukenga  and the bottom one is from Matatua and the tribe is called Ngai te Rangi. If you look closly into the picture on the right then you will see a rope at the bottom of the rope you will see the first houses the started at Tauranga Intermediate as the rope gets on you will see the houses that have came to this school, also at the top on the right picture at the top of the three heads you will might be able to see there are nails at the top of the head some people have there their own theory some say its hair some say different.

Valentines Day

St Valentines was a Roman priest who was secretly organising weddings for soldiers. He was jailed then sentenced to death by the King on February 14th AD 270. We exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers, with our special valentines. A special valentine is someone that you love.

American spend up to 3.6 billion dollars on Valentines gift each year. 50 million roses are sold each year on Valentines Day. 73% of people who buy flowers for Valentines day are men and 27% are women.15% of the US women send themselves flowers on Valentines day.
